Sneak Peek of Benjamin Moore Style 2010

The collaboration between west elm and Benjamin Moore was highlighted at our Emeryville, CA store recently during an event for members of the Design Trade Program. The event featured Benjamin Moore color and design specialist, Mary Hoffman. Noting that 2010 is all about authenticity, Mary introduced 3 prominent color trends for  the year. These are titled Fresh Perspective, Alternative View and Simple Indulgence.

Fresh Perspective

This trend is about looking at your space and your things with a fresh eye and incorporating new + natural materials. Browns are back as are many hues of green. Monochromatic schemes that use different values of the same hue are also news. Gray and white with a pop of color continues to be a trend.

Alternative View

Navy is back and bigger than ever.  It is often mixed in a palette of purples and greens. Cedar green is Benjamin Moore’s color of 2010 and it fits perfectly in this color story. Pink will also be making a strong statement during the later part of the year.

Simple Indulgence

The third trend focuses on restrained elegance. The big color story in this trend is purple. It warms up hues like cool greens and comes in tempting new variations like blueberry.
