Preview of Anatolia Copper and Farina Farm Wire Collections
From European markets to the most exotic of souks and bazaars, Pottery Barn designers are known to comb the world in search of authentic designs and objects created by hand. That’s how we discovered our Anatolia Copper and Farina Farm Wire Collections. We fell in love with them on sight, and it’s easy to see why. Copper and wire, challenging materials to work with, are tamed into graceful shapes by master artists and artisans with a tradition of producing world-class work.
An enduring history of Anatolian copper work has established Turkish artisans as masters of the craft. Our large-scale vessels are hand forged in Turkey and hand hammered, linking the founders working on our pieces with a long line of talented ancestors. Each vase, cachepot and pot has all the warmth of pure copper, but is made from a metal alloy of copper-plated iron that’s far more affordable. Distinctive, hand-forged wrought wrought-iron handles make them functional as well as decorative.
The creators of our Farina Farm Wire Collection are master basket weavers from the Philippines. These table accessories are made with an unexpected combination of fine-gauge rattan and galvanized wire. Each of the chargers, tray and tiered stand are crafted with such precision that it’s hard to believe they were made using nothing but the nimblest of fingers. Despite their near-perfection, each basket is inherently unique.
Pottery Barn’s signature appeal for our customers is rooted in the deft craftsmanship and unique, artisan-made products. In that spirit, we look for the most original designs, materials and fabrications that the world has to offer.
The Anatolia Copper and Farina Farm Wire Collections will be available for purchase on July 14, 2010, along with Pottery Barn's other Fall Collections.
