The new Bliss collection from west elm proves that modern design can also be comfortable design. Comfy and contemporary, the four pieces in the Bliss collection invite you to linger.

"We named the collection 'Bliss' because we wanted customers to know that these pieces are comfortable as well as good looking," says Nancy Tsuei, Director of Merchandising for west elm's furniture lines. "You want to spend time with them."

Emily Arthur, Designer, Furniture, notes west elm sofas historically have always had a very square and modern voice. "The Bliss sofa was an exploration in making a modern form with softer lines," says Arthur.

The design team thought about how the word "bliss" would translate into a piece of furniture. "The outcome is a sofa that has very few straight lines—even the legs are at an angle," says Arthur.

They also added a flange to all edges of the back and seat pillows both to create a softer profile and to be more inviting.

"The large seat cushion looks more like a giant pillow than a sofa cushion," says Arthur.

Tsuei points out that the Bliss sofa is the most premium sofa that west elm offers. "It's an exceptional value that is unparalleled in the marketplace," she adds.

Design details like the large down-wrapped cushions, curved arms and natural ash legs add an elevated polish to this premium sofa. Featured in a heathered linen-blend upholstery but available in all of west elm's special order fabrics, the Bliss collection aims to please.
