west elm’s new Global Bazaar features finds from far-flung design meccas that will add color and texture to every design project.

Our newest collection features handmade textiles like the bold block-printed pillow covers made by skilled craftspeople in Jaipur, the storied capital of the north Indian state of Rajasthan. Using pigment dyes and hand carved teak blocks, local artisans handprint graphic designs inspired by traditional colors and patterns. Offered in vivid shades like raspberry, canal green, jade, pumpkin and Pompeii blue, these textiles have been certified as authentically handmade by the nonprofit organization Craftmark.

Buoyant block-printed quilts and shams from the same Indian artisans extend the travelogue into the bedroom. This lively bedding comes in a variety of reversible patterns printed on hand-blocked cotton voile in hibiscus coral and ocean blue.

Lightweight throws made from recycled vintage saris quilted by hand with traditional “kantha” embroidery are also available. Every kantha quilted throw is unique in its size, hue and pattern—no two are alike.

You’ll also find these intriguing kantha cloths used to upholster the limited edition everett kantha chair. To make each one-of-a-kind chair, three kantha cloths are overdyed with a deep indigo blue to unify the different sari patterns while still leaving them faintly visible underneath. This richly textured melding of old textiles and contemporary design compliments both traditional and modern décor.

Other limited-edition furniture includes the carved-wood coffee table made from natural mango wood.  Also made by skilled craftspeople in Jaipur, this low, round table sculpted with delicate rosettes creates a compelling focal point in a room.

Distinctive and dynamic, these accessories reflect a well-traveled life. Check out our complete selection online or in-store.
